What can I do if my yard light is not working properly?
The lamps should be a maximum 50 watt High Pressure Sodium (HPS) bulb, and should be illuminated from dust to dawn. Below are some tips to get the lamps in working order:
1. If the bulb comes on for a while and goes out the bulb is burning out and should get replaced.
2. Some neighbors have had to replace their photocell sensor.
3. Other neighbors had to bring the load output of the sensor eye to the hot connection of the socket and the neutral directly to the socket and then used a LED bulb, this bypasses the transformer, capacitor and ignitor that are needed for the HPS bulb. Recommend an electrician perform this work.
If for some reason you need to replace the lamp they can be bought at BBC Lighting and Supply, stock number is HPS-5732-BO-BLK-OA.
Lamp Posts are required to be in working order as part of the Developers Agreement with the City of Port Washington to not have as many street lights throughout the subdivision.
